Complete dominance

The Women's NCAA tournament got off to the kind of start everyone expected from the Lady Huskies...complete domination. With a score of 104-65, you would never know Connecticut was up by such a large margin of victory, because Coach Auriemma was on Tina Charles all night. She had one of the best games of her career on Sunday afternoon, posting 32 points (a career high) and 11 boards. 

Auriemma said in the post-game conference that "some people wait for things to happen and others make things happen." If you guys look back to last year's tournament, Charles didn't have a solid performance. In order for this team to go all the way, Connecticut's big three (Charles, Montgomery, and Moore) need to be playing at an elite level.  If you have the opportunity to watch a woman's game from the courtside, pay attention to Geno's expressions throughout the entire game. They are hilarious. At one point during the game, UConn was already up by 30, Charles already had 20 something points, but hesitated on a shot. He flipped.

Auriemma will never let these girls settle, he will never let them get complacent. Their intensity is a testament to how great this team is. If they keep playing how they have all year, no one will be able to stop them. 

Tonight's matchup against Florida should be more entertaining, but it's still no contest. Round 2 of the NCAA tournament coming up in just 30 minutes...
