Let the Madness Begin

The predictions, analysis, and filling out brackets is over. It is finally time for the NCAA Tournament to begin in a few hours, and in the UConn Huskies case, at 3:00 this afternoon they will take the court to begin their journey of winning the national title. This is a UConn team that came into this season with great expectations. They were returning nearly their entire team and were a preseason number 2 in the country. It has been a largely successful season, but the loss of Jerome Dyson and the Huskies eventual struggles down the stretch have caused many to question whether this team can still cut down the nets in Detroit. They have the talent to win a title and certainly the coach to get it done. But this team needs tournament experience and to win some early round games to gain the confidence they need to go forward. It's crazy to think that the college basketball season only has three weeks left, but within those three weeks there will be games and players who will leave their ever-lasting legacy on the NCAA Tournament. For UConn it starts this afternoon and they will need to prove to themselves and the country that they have the ability to win an NCAA Tournament game for the first time since 2006.
