On the game side of things, what should have been a good game has been pretty one-sided so far Villanova 44 - UCLA 31. Villanova is having no trouble controlling the tempo and are dominating on the boards 18 to 9. Nova's defense is smothering the Bruins, who have only shot 9 of 22 from the field. Josh Shipp is doing his best with 13 pts but his team isn't giving him much help. I thought if UCLA could cut it to ten points at the half they'd have a chance but that looks doubtful now.
Could the crowd be a factor? Definitely. We mentioned it a lot of times before but the entire Wachovia Center is on Villanova's side. This city may not have a lot of championships in recent years, but they know how to get behind a team.
