Women Roll Over Vermont, Face Florida Tuesday

The #1 overall seeded Huskies opened up the NCAA Tournament here in Storrs with a 104-65 demolishing of the Vermont Catamounts.  Tina Charles finished 13 of 14 from the floor for a season high 32 points, all in the first half.  Renee Montgomery added 19, while Kalana Greene and Maya Moore both contributed with 13.  When all was said and done 11 Huskies saw playing time, ten of whom scored.  The second game of the double-header in Gampel Pavillion was a match-up between the Florida Gators and Temple Owls.  Temple struggled from the floor, shooting under 40% and missing all 12 of their shots behind the arch as Florida came away with a decisive 70-57 victory.  The Huskies and the Gators will face off for a spot in the Sweet Sixteen on Tuesday in Gampel at 7pm.
